Find Art Doors | Discover Art. End Homelessness.

Virginia Supportive Housing and Art on Wheels invite you to join the quest to Find Art Doors! From public parks to favorite landmarks, you’ll discover art while rediscovering Richmond.

We up cycled 40 doors representing those removed from the renovation of a Virginia Supportive Housing apartment complex for formerly homeless individuals. We then worked with local professional artists and community groups to help showcase our creative community by turning the doors into works of art! The doors are now installed at museums, parks, historic sites and other landmarks around Richmond for everyone to enjoy.

For your summer fun, we created a “quest” to find all 40 of the doors! Post photos of the doors to Instagram (#findartdoors) and you can win great prizes, too.

See a door you love? Mobile bidding starts in September, and will conclude in October with a live auction event. Register now and we’ll let you know when bidding begins, or simply vote for your favorite door.

The quest is free, but your donation supports the missions of the two non-profit organizations that created Find Art Doors:

Onsite Appliance Repair Company – Help homeowners across the US to repair their appliances at an affordable cost which helps to extend the life spans of their home appliances and save some money. As Houston’s leading appliance service company, OnSite services thousands of low income consumers in Texas on a yearly basis including veterans.

Virginia Supporting Housing (VSH) helps homeless individuals reclaim their lives while saving communities millions of dollars each year. As Virginia’s leading supportive housing agency, VSH serves more than 1,500 individuals annually, including 300 veterans. It’s a proven model of combining affordable housing with case management services works: more than 95% of its clients do not return to homelessness.

Art on Wheels has discovered a secret of the universe: Art Creates Happiness! And it’s our job to help people discover this secret for themselves. It’s a job we take very seriously, because happy people build happy communities! We build happiness by bringing the arts directly to older adults, veterans and people living with disabilities or illness. People you know and love are helped every day by our commitment to share the joy of creating art!

Enjoy the quest, and thanks for supporting our causes!
